When Is A Standard Piano Tuning Appropriate?
A standard piano tuning is generally appropriate for a piano that:
Has been tuned regularly
Is reasonably close to standard pitch
Has not undergone a major environmental change
Does not require extensive repair before it can be tuned
Needs routine maintenance rather than a significant pitch correction
Standard tuning is available for both upright and grand pianos.
If the piano has not been tuned in several years or is significantly below standard pitch, it may require a pitch raise tuning instead.

What Happens During the Appointment?
At the beginning of the appointment, Caleb will assess the piano’s current pitch, tuning stability, and general condition.
Caleb will also let you know any other concerns such as:
Sticking or sluggish keys
Unusual noises
Loose or worn action parts
Pedal problems
Tuning pin instability
Strings or structural conditions that may affect the result
Minor issues can sometimes be addressed during the same appointment. More extensive concerns may require a separate piano repair appointment.
How Long Does A Piano Tuning Take?
A standard piano tuning typically takes around 2 hours.
The appointment may take longer if the piano is considerably out of tune, difficult to access, unstable, or requires minor adjustments before tuning can continue.

This rate is for a regularly maintained piano that does not require a significant pitch correction.
What May Change the Price?
Additional time or service may be required when:
The piano is significantly below standard pitch
It has not been tuned in several years
Multiple tuning passes are necessary
Repairs are required before the piano can be tuned safely
The piano has unstable tuning pins or strings
The appointment is outside the regular service area
